On November 20, 2024 Armenia hosted its traditional International GIS Day. Starting in 2021, the leading Armenian GIS company Geovibe, www.geo-vibe.com , an ESRI Partner, together with its partners, hosts the celebrations of the International GIS Day in Armenia- to identify, study and discuss the use of GIS technologies for the benefit of the development of Armenia, get acquainted with the latest and best trends in the field of GIS, share success stories of GIS implementation and expand the capabilities of the local geoinformation community.

International GIS Day is celebrated all over the world and is considered a major and important annual international professional holiday.

This year, Geovibe, together with its partners, AGBU and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUASA), dedicated the International GIS Day to the topic of “GIS for Smart Cities”.

 

Success stories and presentations were shared by the capital Yerevan Municipality, who recently launched in its Municipality Geoportal, the Geovibe, the NUASA and international partners.

Delivering his welcome speech the First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan pointed out the importance of the GIS for the progressive development of Armenia, the Ministry’s assistance to the development of the industry and sent his congratulatory message to the industry devotees, GIS specialists and beneficiaries from the public, private and academic sectors who attended the event.
