With the participation of more than 130 GIS Specialists and industry leaders, and with the collaboration of AGBU, Geovibe hosted the annual GIS Day in Yerevan, Armenia. This occasion aligned with the global celebration of GIS DAY.  

Highlights of the GIS Day 2023 Event: 

Quantum College Students’ GIS Projects: 

Students from Quantum College, namely Ashot Avanesyan, Elen Nazaryan, and Sati Hayrapetyan, demonstrated their school projects, which were based on geospatial analysis. The projects, “Prospects of Solar Energy Development in Vayots Dzor Region” and “Changes in Viticulture Regions of Aragatsotn Region under Climate Change Conditions,” underscored the students’ commitment to leveraging GIS for sustainable development and renewable energy. These projects were completed during the 2022/2023 academic year and were supported and guided by their teachers and Geovibe staff. 

Innovative GIS Analysis of Armenian Real Estate Market Trends: 

Awadis Shekoyan, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at SADA and an alumnus of the American University of Armenia (AUA), captivated the audience with a thought-provoking presentation on the innovative GIS analysis of Armenian real estate market trends. The work presented was the capstone project of Awadis’ bachelor’s degree and it was mentored and supported by Geovibe.  

Satellites: Invaluable and Potential Use Cases: 

Massis Gumrigyan, Technical Director of the CSIE Space Programs, delivered a bespoke presentation, shedding light on satellite capabilities and various use cases. Attendees gained valuable insights into the pivotal role GIS plays in harnessing satellite data for monitoring and planning. 

AI in GIS: Vision and Trends: 

The event concluded with Geovibe presenting a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in AI within the GIS domain. Geovibe emphasized its unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the geospatial sector, highlighting the seamless integration of AI technologies to enhance GIS capabilities. 

Geovibe remains at the forefront of geospatial innovation, continuing to contribute significantly to the evolution of GIS technology. The GIS Day 2023 event served as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, networking, and exploration of the latest advancements in the field.
